The round chess pieces and square chessboards of Go symbolize the 361 intersections on the chessboard of the “Heavenly Place”. The 361 days of the Chinese Lunar Calendar are divided into 4 parts representing 90 intersections of each part of the season and 3 months of each quarter. In the center of the 90-day chessboard, Tai Chi black and white two-color chess pieces indicate yin and yang.
